Many of our staff are graduates studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
Our apprentices are given support and encouragement, as well as the responsibility of being part of a team and dealing with clients.
You will be provided with a combination of training, experience and responsibility from day one with us.
We expect candidates to have a professional manner and to be enthusiastic and keen to learn.
It is not necessary for a candidate to have a degree in accounting or maths, but we would prefer a minimum of a 2:1.
Depending on subjects studied, we may consider accepting a lower pass mark.
At Richardsons we offer the opportunity to experience a broad range of accounting specialities such as audit, corporate tax, personal tax and certain tax schemes.
We deal with approximately 500 clients across a broad range of sectors and ranging from small to large companies.
Trainees joining Richardsons directly after leaving school undertake a training contract.
You will study towards the internationally recognised Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification which takes two to three years depending on previous qualifications.
There may then be the opportunity to progress to the full Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) examinations, with various exam exemptions offered after AAT success.
For our trainees, the AAT qualification involves weekly visits to First Intuition, a highly regarded non-residential national training organisation.
