Classified as a general practitioner, Dave also specializes in Auditing. Thomas David have always been respected as auditors whilst being very competitive on audit fees. Dave has specialist knowledge and experience in mergers and acquisitions and undertaking due diligence. Also, many of Dave's clients are professional sportsmen. As senior partner, Dave will always ensure that his staff will give the very best service at all times.
Dave was an apprentice and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Trevor Jones in Waltham Cross. Later he became a partner at Trevor Jones in 1981 at the young age of 27. Dave is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and in 1988 Dave and his partner Tommy Mines left Trevor Jones to set up Thomas David. Dave has many sporting interests amongst which are still playing cricket for his local club St Margaretsbury, for Hertfordshire over 50's and 60's teams, and he is a member of the MCC.
He has been Chairman and latterly President of his own club. He follows England rugby, Spurs football and horse racing.

In late 1988 it was amicably agreed at a partners meeting at Trevor Jones & Co. Chartered Accountants (Waltham Cross) that Thomas Mines and David Brown should leave that practice, taking with them their own clients and staff.
Tommy and Dave decided that their Christian names would combine to form the trading name.
They deemed it fitting as Thomas David would pride itself on personal relations with its clients.
The first offices of Thomas David were in High Street, Hoddesdon, Herts, but in 1991 the firm expanded to incorporate two offices.
